RE IMMAGINING PALESTINE

This project is dealing with the right of return for Palestinian refugees, the problem of the Palestinian refugees was always from the main problems in the twentieth century, and the most tragic and complicated issue in the entire world.
Both of sides of this issue “Palestine and Israel” have presented their points of view to the world through the mass media and each of them has offered solutions for this issue, but what it is clear to the eye that all the mass media of Palestine are under Israeli blockade, and that situation will already put some limitations and restriction on the freedom of the Palestinian media.
In addition, the Palestinian media has just one Act since 25 of June 1995 which intend to organize the work of Palestinian Media, but this Act has not been applied on all the media institutions in Palestine.
As a result of all of the above mentioned, we have found that we should conduct this project to find out the truth about the right of return for Palestinian refugees, and we already have started to launch investigations about the historical, political and sociological concepts of Palestine, and we have analysed it in relation with of power, spectacle and memory within contemporary mediated culture, which were the first steps of us toward this project.
This project is considered as a Basic/Applied Research, which we are aiming through this project to improve the knowledge about the right of return for Palestinian refugees, the project’s methodology is combined with many methods, but it is mainly depend on Field Trip method, which is very important and opportunity to us to collect data and to enhance our cultural experience about Palestine, also our project will involve Semi-Structured Interviews method, that we will arrange a list of questions about our area of interest for this project, anyway this will not prevent us from changing these questions depending on the situation. In addition to the methodology, we will try to use the Oral history Methodology, we can get benefit from using this methodology that we can get some important stories about our issue which cannot be found in printed sources.
